I'd be interested in hearing about them.
Some say the Chinese ones on EBay are not up to par, but bright light is bright light!
They do seem to have decent reviews on Jeep forums though.
You may be right about upside down. All the pics I've seen have the big one on the bottom.

I have had a H4 LED fan cooled globe fitted now for over 8000 km much better light than halogen and draws less power , I bought the pair of Chinese globes from fleabay for $80, easy to fit it just plugs into the original H4 plug.

If they're upside down you'll know because the line of light should be on the upper part if you turn them on against a structure such as your garage doors as illustrated .....and with mine, the smaller circle is on the upper part of the light

Bought one for mine over the holidays $25 from Amazon. I went a bit furtherr but that in itself is a big improvement and well worth it.

Bought one of these replacement bulbs on EBay, and feel a bit foolish asking for directions to change a light bulb! BUT.... they came with none.
Do you put the point of the triangle up or down? (It fits both ways)
Do you reinstall the boot or does that prevent the little fan from cooling the bulb?

I'm pretty sure if you reinstall the boot it will eventually melt, LED bulbs run very hot even though they use so little power, as for the triangle I'd try them both ways and go for a drive, you'll notice which way is right side up if you mismatch them when you install them

just installed one on my bike and the light will only go in one way as there are 3 tabs on the light with one being larger and that fits into said bigger slot...The small LED lights will then be top and bottom :

Ditto.

This is the lamp I installed last winter; you can see in the photo, one tab is wider. This lamp is double-sided, not a triangle and hi/lo works just fine.

The one I bought is not round like Alan's, but triangular, and has 3 different adapters for 3 different mounts. the correct adapter only goes one way into the mount on the headlight assembly, but the bulb goes into the adapter two ways! I guess I'll go for a ride to see if I got lucky.

Also if don't use the boot, I presume that It'll get bugs & filthy inside the lens.
Not so sure the replacement bulb was the way to go then.

Brilliant! ( )

Oih Bob
Most of the H$ bulbs are universal Standard fit. The ones Rabbi & Myself are using and slightly different ( don't appear to have as large heat sink on the end) however they can only fit in one place and as you can see on Papasmurfs photo there is a locator flat that located the bulb into the Semi sealed Headlight. You cannot get this wrong. and because of the heat sink on the back there is no need to use the rubber cover. and now you will not get any more moisture etc into your headlight as the Bulb keeps the headlight sealed from behind.

Our simply plugged in and went. the only think I did was to secure the LED driver to the back of one of the headlight retainer clips so that it was not rattling around inside the headlight. My Headlight bucket is getting pretty full as I also have My GPS voltage reducer located in there as I run My GPS off the Ol Park light.

I can take and post some pictures if you are still confused.

This is all pretty simple and literally takes about 5 minutes to complete. Cheers

This is the one I bought. As you can see, it has 3 adapters.
There is no "confusion" It simply goes into the adapter two ways, one of which is likely wrong.
I'll just take the bike out at night and see how it looks.

wouldn't a 360 degree beam just shine everywhere even up and not so much as a "beam" like a flashlight?

No it's the Fluting in the glass that determines when the light is directed. Don't forget to give the light a rinse out with some mild household detergent to clean the reflector. "Do NOT rub the Reflector with a cloth to clean it", it will fuck the reflector. Mix up the detergent, give it a good swirling around and then rinse it with clean water and air dry with some dry compressed air and then let it sit out in the sun for a while to bake off any remaining moisture before you fit the bulb,
